Rafael Falconi speaks about his career as Digital Artist at Unhide Conference

Rafael Falconi, also known as the DMP Wizard (Bruxo do Matte Painting), is a Brazilian Senior Digital Artist, mentor

and creative nomad with over 12 years of industry experience.

Renowned for his expertise in Matte Painting and Digital Art, Rafael has contributed to over 100 advertising campaigns

and iconic projects like Free Fire, Black Mirror, and Pride. His collaborations extend to globally recognized brands and studios, including Globo Television and creative adward-winning powerhouses like Zombie Studios, Platinum FMD, 

Vetor Zero, and Roof Studios, where his Photoshop “witchcraft” transforms concepts into stunning Key Visuals.

Raised in the historical city of Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro, Rafael’s artistic journey began in childhood, inspired by nature,

NBA highlights, My Neighbor Totoro, and Street Fighter. His fascination with storytelling and design led him to graduate

in Graphic Design at the Fine Arts School of UFRJ. There, he sharpened his foundational skills and created a fully illustrated

adaptation of Tales of Mystery and Imagination by Edgar Allan Poe as his capstone project.

Beyond advertising and entertainment, Rafael expanded his creative range through 2D Animation studies at AnimaMundi

and work in scientific visualization and VFX. This multidisciplinary background fuels his dynamic approach,

blending technical precision with bold artistry.

Today, Rafael shares his passion through mentorship, empowering aspiring digital artists worldwide to master their craft and thrive in the competitive worlds of Advertising, Film, and Games.
